This typical Mennecy Mustard Pot of the best period was purchased at Versailles France, from Marcel Poulet,3 Rue Colbert. The barrel is a part of the stand. The cover has a cut out place for a spoon. The decoration is polychrome floral in the colours so typical of Mennecy of the best period. The edges are out in the claret colour used at this factory in lieu of gold which was forbidden by Louis XV. Size 6 X 4-1/2 inches.
