NOTES BY CLEO M. AND G. RYLAND SCOTT, JR IN THE LATE 1950’S
This cup and saucer is the popular blue and white willow pattern. This kind of porcelain was made in large quantities at Worcester, Bow and Coughley. It is supposed by some to have been the invention of Turner. The story concerns the poor Chinese boy who was in love with the rich Chinese Girl, etc. This cup and saucer is believed to be an early one and has the scratch' mark at the foot rim.
